1.Don't lose yourself in config tuneing. It is like katas.
You get fast successes. But it wont help you getting better.
When you are good enough then you can start to play with cl_timenudge -25 or something
2.Join a clan. Then you can play wars. And the players in
the clan will teach you because they want to have skilled players.
3.Try to play sometimes none poke. You wont get better when you
only focus on poke but on timing.
4. Timing: Try to think where your opponent is going to dodge/go next.
And then figure out a counter.
Or: timing:
-Knowing When your opponent is vulnerable.
-Knowing how long is it going to take to get to him.
-Knowing how long it is going to take to get a slash in the middle stage and stand next to him
Combined these three are a terrible weapon. You need rtythm feeling... Maybe you should start playing drums. :P

other tipps:
1. about poke:When you do ONE slash to the right. Then you will see that the saber spins more than
360 degrees. So when you want to perform a perfect poke you have to spin about more than 360 degrees too
When you want to keep your saber in the enemy the whole time. At one point you even have to stand with your back to
your opponent to do damage.
2. When you really understand the poke therory and why the right slash is the best then you should answer me this question without problems:
In which direction should you dodge when you stand in front of you opponent?
answer:
To the right ( to the left out of the perspective of your enemy).
Because when your opponent is slashing to right (his persepctive) then the opponents saber is very shortly in you when
you dodge to the right (your perspective) and so it does not very much damage.
3. Buy a BIG mousepad and play with a low sensivity. That gives you maximum control .(expecially for good for poking.)
4. learn how to strafe jump (important for ffa/tffa)
